Persuasive Speech Research

The following guide was created for Professor Curiel's spring 2010 Speech 1A class, but it may be helpful to other students that are conducting research for papers and presentations related to implementing solutions to current issues.

Reference Databases

Reference databases can also help you explore your topics. Reference sources:

  • provide overviews of broad topics
  • can help you find a topic or narrow your topic 
  • are good for confirm facts and statistics 
  • can be used to develop a list of keywords to use in your database searching

*Note that off-campus use of databases is restricted to Mt. SAC students, faculty, and staff and requires login. 

Reference Books

The Mt. SAC Library purchases reference books on a wide variety of topics.  Librarians can help you find a reference book appropriate to most topics.  Please stop by the reference desk to get our assistance.
