Library Online Resources for Faculty

LibApps is a tool that allows you to embed library databases or research guides (LibGuides) directly onto a Canvas content page in an interactive format, so students can easily access them without leaving Canvas.  

Libguides is another tool the library uses to create online guides focusing on subject areas and general topics. These research guides are aimed at helping students find the best resources for a subject.

You can now seamlessly embed these research guides into Canvas in a variety of ways:

• an entire guide: e.g. Scholarly vs. Popular Periodicals
• a single page of a guide: e.g. Scholarly Journal Articles page 
• a specific box in a page of a guide: e.g. Types of periodicals - Scholarly vs. Popular box 

You can also embed library databases into Canvas in a variety of ways:

• A-Z list
• Subject specific database list: e.g. child development
• Content type specific database list: e.g. videos
