Why to Start with Reference Sources?

Reference sources serve many purposes:

* They provide overviews of broad topics, which may help you figure out what area of this large topic really interests you. 

* They can help you find facts such as biographical information on a dancer, confirm dates, names, locations, etc. 

* They can also help you develop a list of keywords that will be helpful in database searching.

How Do I Find Reference Sources?

They are available in print and/or online.

  • Online reference books can be accessed through Gale eBooks or Credo Reference 
  • Print reference books are in the library's Reference Section

Print Reference Books

Print Reference books do not check out. You must use them inside the Library and you may photocopy from them as needed.
