Empirical Research?

What? Empirical research uses data derived from actual observation or experiment .

What do empirical research articles look like? Take a look at this sample article.

      Most empirical research articles include the following 5 components:

  1. Introduction and Literature Review
  2. Method
  3. Results
  4. Discussion or Conclusion
  5. References 

Where are empirical research articles published? Original research articles that describe empirical studies and their results are published in scholarly (peer-reviewed) journals.

How do I find empirical research articles in scholarly (peer-reviewed) journals?

1. Add "data" or "research methods" to your search keywords, eg. nutrition AND research methods;

2. Limit your search results by checking "Peer reviewed" or "Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals" box.
