This guide highlights library resources and beyond to honor and celebrate the achievements and experiences of women, especially with regard to American history.

The observance began over 40 years ago when the U.S. Congress first approved a week-long celebration. In 1987, the first "Women's History Month" was proclaimed in March of that year.
