Library Online Resources for Faculty

This guide outlines the library resources and services that we offer to all faculty including content that can be integrated into Canvas

Link IconGenerally speaking, faculty may assume that if the Library subscribes to a database or journal available in electronic format, they can point to it or its articles for a class. It is best, whenever possible, to provide a link to the resource from the library's database, rather than uploading a PDF in order to avoid any potential copyright issues. Access to the Library's licensed resources is restricted to current students, faculty and staff.

How to Link? Locate the permanent links or use digital object identifiers (DOI) that most databases generate to point to the online content. The links identified in the browser address bar are not permanent links to the content.

If an article does not have a DOI but the database or journal provides another type of permanent link, use prefix:

https://login.mtsac.idm.oclc.org/login?url=

This URL prefix initiates the authentication process necessary to access restricted resources. It will trigger the off-campus login, which allows you and your students to identify as MtSAC affiliates.

The link above replaces the previous one: https://libris.mtsac.edu/login?url=

Note: It is important to test your links from off-campus after creation. If you need help, contact Esteban Aguilar, Electronic Resources Librarian at eaguilar100@mtssac.edu.
