Students now have access to nearly 24X7 online tutoring through three venues.

This service is live, real-time online tutoring whereas the NetTutor version is an email feedback process requiring a couple of days' turn-around time.
Achieving in College, Ensuring Success (ACES) Program The ACES Program provides tutoring, among other services, to ACES students. Its services focus on holistic approach to student development and success. ACES services help students gain knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their educational goals and ultimately obtain a Bachelor's degree. Location: Building 16 B American Language (AMLA) Tutoring AMLA Tutoring is for students in all American Language (credit ESL) classes. Tutors are certified teachers of English as a Second Language. Locations: Bldg 66 Room 243 & 26B Writing Center EOPS Tutoring EOPS tutoring is for students in the EOPS program, and assists students with all subjects. Tutoring is by appointment or drop-in. Location: Building 6 Room 108 Language Learning Center (LLC) The LLC offers a wide variety of language learning materials for independent study, such as software, videos, recording equipment and other resources supplementing in-class textbooks and instruction. These are available for AMLA, Arabic, Chinese, ESL, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Sign Language, and Spanish. Location: Building 6 Room 264 Learning Assistance Center (LAC) Tutorial Services The LAC's Tutorial Services provides one-on-one and group tutoring in multiple subjects, including math, writing, languages, and science. Students can drop in or make an appointment to see a tutor. Tutorial Services also offers online tutoring in math and science cources. Location: Building 6 Room 109 Math Activities Resource Center (MARC) The MARC offers free math tutoring to Mt. SAC students currently enrolled in Math 50 through Math 71. Various resources are available for in-lab and/or take-home use. Location: Building 61 Room 1318 Speech and Sign Success Center (SSSC) Sign Language and Speech students can access specially designed digital video recording rooms that include flat screen monitors for self guided practice and skill development. Individualized tutoring services are available. Drop-in sessions are welcomed, but appointments are highly encouraged. Location: Building 26B Room 1551 |
Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) Center The STEM Center offers free support services to students enrolled in science, mathematics, and engineering courses. Services include peer coaching, tutoring, faculty office hours, and counseling. Seminars and workshops on strategies for success in STEM cources, life management skills for success in STEM cources, and preparation for transfer in STEM majors are presented. The STEM Center serves as a hub for activity related to STEM courses and careers. Location: Building 61 Room 3318 Tech. Ed. Resource Center (TERC) The Mission of Mt. SAC's Tech Ed Resource Center (TERC) is to prepare Career Technical Education students to succeed academically by offering applied activities to address their basic skills needs. TERC offers basic math, reading, writing, research methods, and study skills to all students enrolled in Career Technical Educaiton courses. Students are encouraged to drop in and receive assistance with faculty and tutors or study independently. Location: Building 18C Room 1105 Transfer-Math Activities Resource Center (T-MARC) The Transfer-Math Activities Resource Center (T-MARC) offers free math tutoring to Mt. SAC students currently enrolled in Math 100 through Math 285. Various resources are available for in-lab use and/or take-home use. Location: Building 61 Room 1314 WIN The WIN Program is a tutorial center and study hall where student-athletes have the opportunity to complete homework assignments either individually, with a group, or with the assistance of a tutor. The program is specifically designed to prepare students to transfer to a four-year university and assist them in maintaining academic eligibility. Location: Building 45 Room 1430 The Writing Center The Writing Center offers individual tutoring and group workshops that will improve your writing skills and help you with your assignments. The Writing Center's computer lab features online software and Directed Learning Activities to help students develop their grammar and writing skills.
